Hola Halifax! La Brisa Blows In With Mediterranean Sunshine

22 Jul 2025

This brand-new spot on Town Hall Street is bringing the breeze – and the buzz – to West Yorkshire’s dining scene. Forget booking a flight – Halifax has just been kissed by a warm Mediterranean breeze in the form of La Brisa, the fifth fabulous opening from the team behind La Vida, La Casita, and a few other la-vely places we’d sell our last holiday day to eat at.

Tapas, but Make It La Brisa Halifax

La Brisa Halifax ( La Brisa means “the breeze” – classy, no?) landed at the end of May and it’s already blowing the socks off West Yorkshire foodies. Expect small plates with big personality – smoky chorizo, silky patatas bravas, dreamy grilled halloumi, and seafood that tastes like it’s still humming Despacito.

It’s warm, it’s rustic, it’s full of garlic. Basically, it’s like dining in a Spanish taverna without having to argue with Jet2 over carry-on baggage.

Big Feels, Bigger Flavours

The space itself is stunning – think terracotta tones, low lighting, and that vibe that says, “Yes, you should order another bottle of Rioja.”

The drinks list is pure holiday joy: sangria by the jug, crisp Albariños, and cocktails that’ll have you dancing like it’s fiesta Friday. (Even if it’s Tuesday and you’re due at a 9am meeting.)

Same Dream Team, Fresh New Vibe

Fans of the La Vida/La Casita family will feel right at home – but La Brisa has its own fresh energy. The menu plays with classic Mediterranean flavours while throwing in some cheeky surprises, and the service is so friendly you’ll want to invite them to your nan’s birthday.

Basically: Halifax has never tasted this good.
