L’Antica Pizzeria Da Michele, Stoke Newington
Originally from Naples and dating as far back as 1936, L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele had from the beginning – and yes, still has – people queuing around the block a for their pizza. Sound familiar London?
Now bringing its authentic Neapolitan taste to Church Street, Michele (the brains behind the cheesy business) has sent his son, Marco, over to uphold those all important pizza values and authenticity. And speaking of authentic, even the chefs working in Stoke Newington have all been trained in Naples to ensure the pizzas are of exceptional Italian quality.
At the heart of any Italian is simplicity and so is true of L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele. There are two constants on the menu: the Margherita or a Marinara. But if you’re looking for something a bit more jazzy, there will be two ‘rotating specials’ to spice things up.
Look, who are we to argue with authenticity? With pizza this traditional and this famous, it looks like Stoke Newington has just put itself on the global map.
