The World’s Best Martini Challenge

18 January 2018 6:30 pm
Following on from the success of last year’s competition, The World’s Best Martini Challenge is returning to London, and will crown one gin brand as winner at its exciting finale at Oslo, Hackney. Featuring five new finalists, last year’s winner Daffy's Gin, three judges, the UK’s finest bartenders and a lot of gin, the event will be a chance for drinks connoisseurs, gin lovers and spirited enthusiasts to sample an assortment of mouth-watering Martini's and ultimately decide on the World's Best. Founded by Gary Sharp and James Thomas, arguably the country's biggest Martini aficionados, this year is even bigger than 2017. As each Contender offers up a Classic Martini and Showcase Martini, Anna Sebastian, Manager of Artesian Bar at The Langham, Rich Hunt, owner of Mint Gun Club, and Mark Ludmon, editor of Bar Magazine along with the always-enthusiastic event attendees, should be prepared to tantalise their tastebuds as they spend the night sipping on the world's best Martinis. As the final 5 Contender Gins have now been announced, the hotly anticipated finale of this exciting event is growing ever closer. With last years winner Daffy's Gin triumphant Showcase Martini recipe offering up a delightful take on the traditional Martini, including Daffy's Gin, mint, orange peel, coriander bitters and almonds alongside a dash of cinnamon this year promises a whole host of mouth-watering twists on this quintessentially British cocktail.
